Don't miss out on the fun, the bragging rights, the great prizes, and the chance to hook into the biggest, ugliest fish you've ever caught on a fly.

This year will be the Fifth Annual Carp Classic ("Carpalooza").   It's hard to believe that Dan Hurzeler, aka Carp lips, started this great event five years ago. . ...which in Carp years is. . . .five years ago.  This event is a fly-fishing only  tournament and FUN fundraiser for fly-fishing guides and/or 'fly industry' people that are deemed in need of fundraising help for the year.

Tournament dates are May 15 & 16 @ Blackfoot Reservoir, South East Idaho.  Anglers consisting of 3-person teams are competing for prizes in the Team Total-Weight division and daily men's, women's and kids biggest fish divisions.  A mandatory rules meeting will be held at 8:00 AM, Friday the 15th.  Tournament starts each day with a shot-gun start at 9:00 am and ends at 5:00 PM at same location for weigh in.  Entry fee is $25.00 per person per day and includes a Carp Classic V hat.  Pre-registration is required before the start of the contest.  A $5.00 per person pancake feed will be held each morning at 8:00 am (donated by Gary & Leslie Green) at the designated starting area.
There will be Raffle prizes so don't forget to bring your wallet.... this is a fundraiser

DON'T FORGET your fly-fishing gear (6, 7, 8 or 9 weights) camping supplies, food, beer, ice, whiskey AND YOUR IDAHO FISHING LICENSE.

DIRECTIONS:

Take  I-15 to Idaho Falls.  Take exit #116.  This is Sunnyside Road.  Follow Sunnyside Road all the way east (through the neighborhoods) until you see the signs to Blackfoot Reservoir.

It is about 45 minutes to an hour drive on a dirt road, heading south from Sunnyside Road.  When you get to the reservoir, go left, about 4 miles to the Pebble Beach boat ramp.  Look for people laughing hysterically (you might want to "Google Earth" Blackfoot Res. to get a feel for where the event is).
