Brooks Montgomery has worked in the outdoor sporting goods industry since 1979. Operating out of Salmon, Idaho, gateway to the largest wilderness area in the ‘lower 48’, Brooks has been a sporting goods retailer, a mountaineering equipment sales representative, a mountaineering manufacturer’s sales manager, a mountain guide, fly fishing guide, and, of course, a fly fishing and hunting industry manufacturer’s representative. From 1988 to 1997, Brooks worked in Antarctica: he managed the United States Antarctic Program’s Field Safety Training Program (search & rescue, survival school, and Antarctic deep-field guiding). His most memorable Antarctic adventure: a U.S.-French-Italian 1000 kilometer tractor traverse from 10,000 ft high on the crevassed laden polar plateau, down to the French base of Dumont D’urville, sea level, on the coast of Antarctica. Mission: to remove the last nuclear-radioactive battery off of the Antarctic continent. You’ll have to ask him the whole story. . . . better do it in installments. . . . . These Antarctic journeys allowed Brooks to travel extensively in New Zealand in his off time. Brooks still considers New Zealand “ the finest trout fishing in the world” (and the deer hunting is pretty darn good also). 2010: Brooks Montgomery Sales & Marketing’s award winning team-mates are private contractors: Travis Morris, Sales Associate, Bozeman, Montana; and Janet Lund, Sales Consultant, Salmon, Idaho. Travis Morris managed the Bozeman Angler, Bozeman, Montana, for ten years. He has guided flyfishing, enjoys bird hunting and big game hunting. And on occasion, when a band is playing, Travis can do some pretty scary dance moves: James Brown has nothing on Travis. Raised in Sheridan, Wyoming, Travis speaks fluent Wyomese. Janet Lund, a former insurance manager, is an avid outdoor enthusiast who especially enjoys powder skiing, whitewater rafting, and mountain biking.
